Optimization of open-pit mining of the Khoilinskoe barite deposit based on computer modeling

Article preview

Volumetric model of the ore body of Khoilinskoe barite deposit was built using Micromine software, which was used as a basis for computer modeling of options for open-pit mining of the deposit. Taking into account the design parameters of the existing open pit (the height of the overburden 5 m, the height of the repayment berm 15 m, the slope of the repayment berm 50°) its volume model was built, on the basis of which the volumes of extracted rock mass, ore were estimated and the average stripping ratio was calculated (19.7). A similar model was built for the prospective variant of the open pit, for which, taking into account new data on physical and mechanical properties of rocks, it became possible to increase the slope of the pit walls to 60° and the height of the repayment benches to 30 m. Calculated by the new model overburden ratio was 14.7, which will reduce the total volume of overburden by 1493 thousand m 3 .

Challenges of predicting the methane content of the Vorkuta and Donbass analogous fields

Article preview

The Vorkutskoye field of the Pechora coal basin has been studied in great detail, except for the problems of methane content. The choice of the field-analogues within the limits of Donbass is limited by the following conditions: coals of stage Ж; collectors - sandstones, tops - argillites. These conditions satisfy Krasnodon and Kamensko-Gundarevsky areas of Donbass. We study the forms of methane: free, sorbed and methane in a metastable state. Are allocated micro deposits in the unloaded massif, in local curves and anticlinal folds of the strata; structural-lithological in the rocks of the coal-bearing strata and zone of cleavage of the Moshcholnaya formation; in the unloaded (exhausted) space. Geological and exploratory methods have low reliability, as a parallel and controlling method of analogy is proposed.

Using fractal analysis to characterize the structure of the Alexandrinskoye ore deposit (Southern Urals)

Article preview

A method of characterizing the structure of copper-zinc sulfide ores by means of fractal dimensionality is presented. Fractal dimensionality allows to quantify the complexity of mineral grain boundaries in ore. This information can be the basis for predicting the disintegration of ores during concentration. The material for the research was polished thin sections of copper-zinc ores from the Alexandrinsky deposit (Ural). Measurements of fractal dimensionality were carried out by the step-by-step method on a personal computer using the programs Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and FractShop. This method is used for sulfide ores for the first time.

Geological and genetic interpretation of the results of samarium-neodymium dating of minerals of gold-tungsten deposits of the Verkhne-Yenashima ore cluster (Yenisei Ridge, Siberia)

Article preview

Samarium-neodymium isotopic characteristics in minerals of gold-tungsten deposits of Olympiada, Olenye and greisen manifestation of tungsten Vysokoye-2 were studied. Isochron ages for mineralization of pre-mining quartz-wolframite-shelite, ore gold-shelite-sulfide, and post-mining fluorite-carbonate stages are 921.2 ± 7.5, 919 ± 93, and 915 ± 47 Ma, respectively. The e Nd (T) values in the minerals range from -1.3 in wolframite to -9.3 in scheelite 2 associated with gold, indicating their crustal nature. Model dating of T ( DM 2- st ) for minerals of pre-mining (1636-2053 Ma) and post-mining (1762-1806 Ma) stages correlates with the time of formation of granitogneiss domes in the region. The dating of T(VM 2- st ) for scheelite 2 (2250-2304 Ma) corresponds to the time of formation of tholeiite-basalt volcanics of the Indiglin complex, which can be considered as the primary source of gold. Gold mineralization in the interval 921-915 Ma resulted from remobilization of gold from the black shale strata and its redeposition during thermal-fluid impact during intrusion of granitoids of the Tartar-Ayakhta Complex at the 930-950 Ma.

Results of the study of physical and mechanical properties of polymer-cement compositions with low content of dispersion medium

Article preview

The regularities of changes in physical and mechanical properties of polymer-cement composition with low content of dispersion medium have been investigated. It has been proved that the introduction of high-molecular polymer "Konkripol" into polymer-cement mortar composition allows to increase compressive and bending strength of cement stone, its adhesion to metal while maintaining the required mobility of the mixture. This contributes to improving the quality of interlayer isolation of the casing space in oil and gas wells.

Experience in expert evaluation of facing granite

Article preview

Under the term ornamentality is meant a set of external properties of the rock, including its coloring and pattern. According to methodical instructions the "Scale of evaluation of decorative effect of facing granite" was made. According to this scale 10 experts-geologists estimated 20 polished samples of granite, each of which was classified as one of four classes of decorative effect. During the survey it was found that many of the parameters for assessing the decorativeness require refinement for a more unambiguous definition.

Methodology for predicting the anthropogenic regime of groundwater during mine flooding

Article preview

This work considers the methodology of hydrogeological forecasts of the conditions of flooding of coal mines. Relevance of the topic is determined by the mass flooding of mines in the main coal mining areas, which raises serious problems associated with the provision of environmental and industrial safety of the liquidation work. At flooding of mines the developing hydrodynamic processes have certain specificity, therefore a necessity of additional analysis and perfection of existing numerical geofiltration models has arisen. Some methodological methods used in forecasting of mine flooding conditions are stated.

Calculation algorithm of layered massif to predict the stress state of the roof and the coal seam in the zone of mining operations

Article preview

A mathematical model of interaction of a multilayer massif with a thin coal seam, including initial resolving differential equations and boundary conditions, has been obtained. The developed algorithm of numerical solution is implemented in a computational program in which the input parameters are geological characteristics of the main and immediate roof, stiffness coefficient of the coal seam in the massif and the law of its change in the edge zone, stiffness coefficient of soil rocks, stiffness coefficient of fill material, layer thickness and ultimate deformations of the roof. Accordingly, the output parameters of the calculation program are: the response of the coal seam to the action of the load from the overlying massif (support pressure), vertical and angular displacement of the roof layers over the coal seam, vertical and angular displacement of the roof over the mined-out space, the ultimate span of the roof.

Goals and objectives of passportization of stockpiles of formed technogenic deposits

Article preview

The article considers one of the most pressing problems of modern mining science - the problem of formation and development of technogenic deposits. It is known that modern technogenic deposits were formed by the method of bulk dumping, taking into account only two requirements: the minimum cost of dumping work and ensuring the stability of the slopes of the dumps. It is proved that the solution of the problem of complex use of technogenic deposits is connected not only with the possibility of increasing their consumption today, but also with the necessity of creating perspective sources of raw materials. In this connection the question of formation of technogenic deposits acquires paramount importance. The passport of the stockpile of rocks - wastes of the open pit of Kostomuksha Mining and Processing Plant is presented. The fourth main technological process of open-cast mining is proposed to be termed not as dumping, but as stockpiling.

Reduction of dust emission from dusty surfaces of mining and smelting facilities

Article preview

In mining-industrial areas, the air basin is mainly polluted with dust, which has a negative impact on the natural environment. One of the powerful sources of dust emissions are dusty surfaces, on which under the influence of atmospheric conditions there are processes of dust formation. In this regard, search for rational means and ways to reduce dust emissions into the atmosphere by dusty surfaces is an urgent task. The simplest in execution is economical, efficient, environmentally friendly way of dust suppression of powerful sources - irrigation of circulating dust by water with the addition of adhesive additives.

Specifics of the development of complex coal deposits

Article preview

The analysis of peculiarities of development of complex-structured coal deposits is carried out. One of the ways to improve the methods of separate mining of complex deposits is the use of hydraulic excavators of backhoe type. Due to their design features, these machines can excavate low-power and complex coal seams ahead of time, remove and unload the rock mass below and above the level of its standing.

Determination of the optimal degree of crushing of blasted rock mass for crushed stone quarries

Article preview

In modern conditions of market relations, it is more and more difficult for enterprises to maintain the efficiency of production. One of the main problems is the high level of production costs due to the large output of substandard fractions. It is shown that the optimum degree of quality of blasting rock mass can be defined through profit, which depends on the crushing indicators, which in turn are the basis of quality and, therefore, prices and production costs. The interrelation of all crushing indicators is considered on the basis of the analysis of the distribution of the granulometric composition of the blasted rock mass carried out at the Olenegorsk Mining and Processing Plant. According to the results of the analysis, the dependence allowing to calculate the relationship of all crushing indicators with the average lump size is obtained.

Determination of dimensions of artificial pillars in the ascending two-stage chamber mining system

Article preview

In the practice of development of ore deposits of non-ferrous metals, combined development systems are increasingly used. The horizon is divided into chambers of stages I and II, which differ in the type of stowing material used. The chambers of stage I are filled with solid stowing, and the chambers of stage II are filled with loose rock. The economic performance of the development system is largely determined by the ratio of I and II stage chambers, since the costs of solid and loose rock stowing are significantly different. In this order of works, the following geomechanical situation takes place: in addition to rock pressure, which loads the pillar from the hanging wall, there is lateral pressure of loose rock deposit on the pillar, which is a retaining wall. The pressure tends to destroy, overturn or move the pillar. Thus, the purpose of this work is to determine the dimensions of monolithic pillar retaining walls in conditions of complex simultaneous loading by rock pressure and active pressure of loose rock deposit when changing technological parameters of development system. A calculation scheme for determining the dimensions of artificial pillars is made, modern methods of calculating rock pressure are described and the width of the retaining wall is calculated when changing the strength of the monolithic deposit and the dip angle of the deposit.

"Reference" model of the psychophysiological potential of the human body in assessing the environmental and technical hazards of mines of OAO Vorkutaugol

Article preview

A "reference" model for assessing the ecological and technical safety of a person working in the conditions of the North is proposed. In order to substantiate a complex criterion for body condition assessment a sample of the results of annual world swimming competitions was analyzed. The results were processed by 17 kinds of swimming in 14 age groups. An integral criterion of organism condition evaluation - psychophysiological potential of a person - was substantiated. A multiplicative model-based methodology for assessing the state of health of the population on the basis of the proposed criterion was developed.

Determination of the dependence of technological parameters and intensification of the rock salt mining process

Article preview

The target objectives of the development of underground salt dissolution technology were and still are to increase the productivity of wells and the completeness of extraction of the deposits' reserves. The complexity of the problems of managing the process of underground salt dissolution through the wells is unique for man-made objects volumes filled with liquid. To intensify the process of solvent saturation, taking into account the above difficulties and peculiarities, the following method is proposed. Underground salt dissolution chamber is eroded by means of buried water supply. Preliminarily on the surface the solvent is saturated with carbon dioxide in the mass ratio of carbon dioxide to solvent from 0.02:1 to 0.16:1. Non-solvent is mixed with carbon dioxide absorbent in the mass ratio of absorbent to carbon dioxide from 1.1:1 to 1.5:1 and periodically fed into the chamber. Preliminary calculation of the technological schemes of salt dissolution through wells developed by the author showed that this method allows increasing the productivity of underground dissolution chambers by 10-20 %, which indicates the prospects for further development of the proposed technologies.

Improvement of technological schemes for mining of powerful steep and steep-sloped seams with sub-stage hydraulic extraction

Article preview

The structure of mineral resource losses during mining of thick steep-sloped and steep seams with the use of the system of under-stage hydraulic extraction in the conditions of OAO Prokopyevskugol was determined. The influence of the main mining-geological and mining-technical factors on losses of minerals was studied. The factors that have the greatest influence on the mineral extraction coefficient were determined. It is concluded that, when determining the height of the subfloor, it is necessary to consider the width of the squeeze zone formed at the border with the mined-out space. The method of determining the parameters of the squeezing zone in the area of the influence of the mining operations is developed. The principles of designing the technological schemes of the mine workings are formulated. Recommendations on the rational arrangement of sub-stage drifts in different mining and geological conditions were developed. The economic effect from the implementation of the developed recommendations was calculated.

Experimental studies of the effectiveness of biological treatment of oil-contaminated soils

Article preview

Surface and underground spills of oil and petroleum products often occur at many facilities, such as industrial enterprises, thermal power plants, boiler houses, transport parks, gas stations, warehouses of fuel and lubricants, etc. Environmental disturbance of soils and soil causes the necessity of spill control and reclamation of the contaminated territories. The most economically and ecologically advantageous is bioremediation at the pollution site. In this case the contaminated space is aerated through a system of filtering channels, stimulating the vital activity of autochthonous hydrocarbon-oxidizing microorganisms. In order to establish the pattern of changes in physical and chemical properties of soils and system parameters in the bacterial method of remediation, to determine the criterial dependencies and refine the design of the bioreactor the analysis of field work, samples of contaminated soil and soils was conducted, a mathematical and justified physical model of the oil pollution locus was created.

Reduction of sulfur dioxide emissions during blasting operations at pyrite mines

Article preview

One of the topical problems is considered - sulfur dioxide gas emissions during blasting operations at the pyrite deposits. All studies in this area to date have been reduced mainly to the solution of the problem of sulfide dust explosion accompanying blasting operations. It is known that an effective way to suppress explosive properties of sulfide dust is the use of special gas-dynamic blasting. However, this leads to an increase in the concentration of sulfide gas. It is proved that the solution to the problem of sulfurous gas emission is achieved by introducing an inhibiting additive into the explosive composition. In this connection, a model of the mechanism of inhibition of the combustion reaction of sulfide dust is considered. The main dependences of the influence of physical and chemical properties and inhibitor content on the sulfurous gas emission are presented. The charge design and explosive composition are proposed to reduce sulfur dioxide emission during blasting operations at colchedan deposits.

On the issue of integrated assessment of spatial conditions of land use

Article preview

Land relations are undergoing radical changes at the present stage, which is connected with the land reform. Particular attention in this area should be paid to the system of payment for the use of land, which proceeds from the need to evaluate land. The evaluation system has so far been dominated by the evaluation of land quality, i.e. its fertility and economic efficiency. With the transition to a multistructure land use the need to assess the spatial conditions of individual land uses and land plots arose. In work the retrospective analysis of a complex estimation of agricultural land use in Russia is executed, and also development of land relations at the modern stage is estimated. The spatial conditions of land use, influencing the transport factor of production, and conditions on which it depends, are allocated.

The influence of technology on the formation of the load during the construction of the column station of the St. Petersburg Metro "Komendantsky Prospekt"

Article preview

The construction technology of subway stations significantly affects the development of the stress-strain state (SSS) of the lining-soil system. This work is aimed at revealing the nature of this influence and changes in the stress-strain state of the station column-crest complexes in the geological conditions of the St. Petersburg Metro. In-situ studies were carried out at the "Komendantsky Prospekt" station, which is under construction, during 7 months. Measurements were made with string sensors of linear deformations and a portable digital period meter. The regularities were revealed and the influence of technological processes (development of the upper vault, core, reverse vault and disassembly of temporary filling tubing) on the formation of the stress-strain state of the column-race complexes was evaluated.

Determination of parameters of dynamic phenomena to calculate seismic resistance of underground structures

Article preview

The parameters of dynamical phenomena influencing the seismic resistance of underground structures are determined. It is shown that the main input data for determination of the vibration velocity in the massif are the maximum energy of the expected dynamic phenomenon and the distance from the excavation contour to its source. The distance from the excavation contour to the center of disturbance depends on the excavation location relatively to the zone of high seismic activity. In the zones which are really dangerous according to dynamic manifestations of rock pressure, the distance to the center of fault zone is taken with consideration of the sizes of zone of unconsolidated rocks with lowered stresses and the sizes of increased stress zone (support pressure) around the excavation. The laws of distribution of dynamic stresses around the excavation were established depending on the distance to the center of the underground drift and the energy of the rock shock. By means of the computer program TABLE CURVE 2D the hyperbolic dependence is revealed which is used for the calculation of the dynamic stresses when estimating the stability of mine workings and choosing parameters of earthquake-proof roofing for capital and preparatory mine workings of mines of the Severouralsk bauxite basin.

Determination of pouring fluid column height when drilling deep wells in ice sediments

Article preview

When drilling deep wells in thick ice deposits, significant difficulties arise in maintaining an open borehole due to the specific viscoplastic properties of ice. At present, there are many ways to fight wellbore swarming while drilling in ice. The most effective and reliable way is filling of boreholes with non-freezing pouring liquids, as the temperature of borehole walls in ice deposits is rather low: for example, ice temperature at Vostok Station (Antarctica) is up to minus 55-57°С at a depth of 20-50 m and minus 5-10°С at a depth of 3500 m and more. Filling fluids are usually formed on the basis of ecologically clean glycol mixtures and have density 0.95-0.96 g/cm 3 . The success of wells in such conditions depends on correct determination of necessary height of filling the well with filling fluid in order to avoid appearance of elastic deformations and ice creep contributing to wellbore contour floating and stoppage of drilling tool down the previously drilled part of the wellbore. Taking into account the equilibrium between lateral stress and pressure of the pouring fluid column, as well as the maximum deformation in the transverse direction, a dependence for the height of the pouring fluid column was obtained. The methodology was tested while drilling a deep borehole (total depth of more than 3620 m) at Vostok Station (Antarctica).

Methods of creating bridge geodetic networks and their technical and economic comparison

Article preview

The main methods of creating bridge geodetic networks are considered: bridge triangulation, trilateration and linear-angular networks. Their advantages and disadvantages are revealed and justified. Pre-calculations of the accuracy for each type of network were made and error ellipses were constructed. The accuracy analysis has revealed that the smallest error along the bridge crossing axis is provided by tri-lateration method, which is very essential, since in bridge construction the requirements for accuracy along the bridge axis are higher than in the crossing direction. The economical estimation of the most frequently used methods of bridge network design: triangulation and trilateration methods has been made. On the basis of the conducted research, the conclusion about the expediency of using trilateration method in production has been made.

Development of methods of geodetic support of hydraulic structures construction on the basis of satellite technologies

Article preview

The technological scheme of geodetic support for the construction of hydraulic structures intended for the safety of the runway of the airfield in Beirut (Lebanon) was developed. The basic method of geodetic measurements is accepted a satellite method in a relative mode. This method is multidimensional for the considered object of works (the method is used for the survey of the bottom relief, embankment of the dam body and laying of building blocks). Lebanese normative and technical documentation was used in the works; the planned positions of the points of the state geodetic network of Lebanon, given on the Clark ellipsoid, were defined in the UTM coordinate system. The plane rectangular coordinate system is French (x-axis points to the east, y-axis to the north).

Regression model of mechanical drilling speed of fractured rocks

Article preview

The mathematical model of mechanical drilling speed for fractured rocks for serial and experimental bits (bits with solid matrix and flushing channels in the body) was built. As a result of the analysis of mathematical models, methodological recommendations for drilling with pilot bits, for which the existing recommendations for drilling fractured rocks with serial (with sectoral matrix) diamond bits can be used, are proposed. In order to build a regression model of mechanical drilling rate for fractured rocks, prototype and production drill bits were made. The matrix of the pilot bit was made solid, and radial flushing channels were made in the body. The drill bits were tested at the drilling stand of the St. Petersburg Mining Institute.

New vibrating inertia equipment for the processing of solid materials

Article preview

The considered equipment is intended both for selective opening of rocks and for disintegration of any hard, brittle materials. Selective opening of crystallites with their minimum overgrinding is achieved by applying to the bulk layer of material strictly dosed compressive forces, as a rule, of inertial nature, and simultaneously impulse vibration shear loads, causing a gradual softening of interfacial bonds. The main compressive and shear forces in these machines are created by centrifugal forces of inertia, and the material, being destroyed in the layer, is subjected to intensive vibratory impact. The principal and constructive features of vibro-inertial crushers are stated, the fields of their application are indicated, as well as new approaches to the calculation and design.

Single-stage hydraulic turbine for the drive of a subsea production machine

Article preview

A complex for extraction of minerals on the seabed and as one of its most important elements - a single-stage axial hydraulic turbine - is considered. Its mechanical characteristics and geometric parameters, which determine the location of the middle lines of the blades in space, are calculated. It has been established that at increase of hydraulic turbine diameter from 0.5 to 1.2 m capacity increases by 89 %, and efficiency value by 11 % and takes the value of 84 %. Mathematical dependences are obtained which allow to determine the average diameter of the hydraulic turbine impeller at the pre-design stage. Designs of actuators for the development of polymetallic ores on the surface of the seabed are also proposed.

Static parameters of the combined drive of a mine electric locomotive

Article preview

The article presents a methodology for determining the main static parameters of a combined drive of a mine electric locomotive, which is a combination of a traditional propulsion system and an additional traction linear electric motor. Since the thrust force of the additional propulsor does not depend on the conditions of traction of the electric locomotive wheels with the rails, the use of such a system will increase the train mass with the electric locomotive coupling mass remaining unchanged. The basic ratios and algorithm of determining the additional propulsion power at different ways of electric motor control and different technological parameters of electric locomotive transport are given. A block diagram and a description of the algorithm for calculating static parameters of the combined drive of a mine electric locomotive for different conditions, based on limiting the traction force of the main drive by a long-term value is given.

Estimation of energy flow losses in the gearing

Article preview

Rotary-impact drill heads with a mechanical rotator transmission are widespread in mines and mines. A typical representative of this class of machines are BGA type units. The revealed data about breakdowns of BHA drill head show that actual lifetime of transmission elements is 60-100 hours, while the regulated lifetime is 360-1440 hours. To estimate the service life of parts and to find the weakest elements of the transmission, the energy method was chosen. When using this approach, it was necessary to consider the influence of inaccuracies in the location of transmission components on their service life. The positioning inaccuracies cause a shift in the meshing of the ring gear, and the load distribution along the width has a variable character, which leads to the reduction of the transmission life due to the occurrence of stresses in some parts of the ring gear, which exceed the allowable stresses. Thus, there was a need to take into account the non-uniformity of energy resource consumption depending on the actual contact width, nature and size of the external load. In order to solve this problem, a laboratory bench for testing the gears was created at the department. Experimental studies carried out on the stand showed that when the contact width changes by more than three times, the losses in the meshing differ little. Obviously, there is a change in the energy balance. The energy flow losses absorbed by the part and going directly to the destruction of the crystal lattice of the material increase, which leads to a more intensive expenditure of the energy resource of the gearing.

Gas transportation automatic control system

Article preview

The trunk pipeline system serves to transport gas and consists of the trunk pipeline, compressor stations, underground storage facilities and the gas distribution network. To determine the price and quantity of the supplied gas, it is necessary to measure the caloric value of the gas at the consumer. A gas quality control subsystem and a gas flow regulation circuit are being developed. The subsystem is an integral part of the ACS of the gas distribution station and consists of three main hierarchical levels. The upper level of the gas quality control subsystem is based on the SCADA system CIMPLICITY PE/HMI. A graphic interface is used for visualization of the main gas parameters, for convenience of control as well as for modification of the entered information. The middle level is built on the basis of a Modicon Micro medium-class PLC. The lower level consists of pressure, temperature, flow, humidity and chromatograph sensors.

Study of sorption of Fe2+ cations on ferromanganese nodules

Article preview

This work is focused on one of the important problems of many metallurgical industries: wastewater treatment from heavy metals, in particular, from effluents containing soluble forms of iron. Most often for this purpose various imported expensive sorbents with ion-exchange function are used. The purpose of this work was to compare the sorption characteristics of already known and used in filtration processes inorganic sorbents and new mineral raw materials - iron-manganese nodules. The results of the experiment showed that the sorption capacity of nodules can be compared with that of crushed concentrates of pyrolusite. Thus, it is possible to recommend ferromanganese nodules for use instead of already known and used in filtration processes inorganic sorbents for water purification from iron (2+).

Improving the methodology of diagnosing the bankruptcy of fuel and energy companies

Article preview

In an unstable economy the identification of the threat of bankruptcy of enterprises becomes essential. The criterial approach, which has been approved in Russia at present, to assess the unsatisfactory structure of an enterprise's balance sheet, however, is not without its shortcomings. In the absence of one universal methodology for predicting bankruptcy there is a need to choose and adjust the methodology according to the specific industry in which the organization operates. For companies in the fuel and energy sector the assessment of the probability of bankruptcy can be based on such indicators as the financial stability ratio, current (total) liquidity, the bankruptcy prediction ratio, E. Altman's creditworthiness index. The latter should be calculated according to the formula adapted to Russian conditions. Besides, in order to make the task easier, it is suggested to refer the enterprise to one of classes of credit solvency. The application of a comprehensive methodology will increase the reliability of the results obtained.

Methodological basis for operational controlling of R&D

Article preview

The production function of a research and production enterprise (RPE) is to generate and maximize profits, ensuring the efficiency of investment in R&D. The efficiency of investment is determined by the level of costs for project development. The problem of cost optimization can be solved by controlling. Depending on character of the purposes of the enterprise and planning horizon, strategic and operational controlling is allocated. For NPP the most significant is the system of operational controlling, allowing to manage costs at the level of structural divisions of the enterprise and developed projects. Controlling, aimed at self-regulation and self-organization of production, will ensure functioning of controlling system on the basis of continuous analysis of production and economic activity; optimization of production function in the format of operative information base. The controlling system at the NPP contributes to the optimization of the price level of scientific and technical products on the basis of continuous regulation of labor and production costs.

Assessment of investment risk in the oil industry when designing the development of oil fields of poorly explored areas

Article preview

The economic efficiency of the project when implementing investments in the extractive industries is significantly affected by geological risk, which is part of the non-systemic risk. When assessing the object, it seems the most adequate to define the geological risk as the probability that the real geological resources or reserves will be below the expected level. Considering that in the structure of the explored reserves the greater part is taken by Ci and C2 categories reserves (more than 60 %), and also a high error of the reserves confirmation and the high level of the geological risk connected with it, it is desirable to have the technology, allowing to make a fast reassessment of the reserves in case of any parameter change taking into account probabilistic nature of its value. The set of technologies considered in this work allows to analyze any series of geological models of an object or license area with any variations of calculation parameters.

Assessment of environmental and conflict competitive risk in the diamond mining industry

Article preview

The article offers a methodology for assessing the unique competitive risks of the diamond mining industry: the environmental competitive risk and the competitive conflict risk. These risks become especially relevant for diamond mining companies operating in the conditions of intensified competition on the global diamond market, more complicated global military and political situation associated with armed conflicts and terrorist acts, deterioration of environmental parameters and increased consumer attention to the environmental quality of products. The proposed methodology is based on an indirect statistical-probabilistic method of calculating the estimated risk, the nature and complexity of which do not allow applying a direct calculation. The risk indicators obtained are different for individual national jewelry markets and for different diamond mining companies.

Mathematical modeling of mineral value isoline during open-pit mining of complex ore deposits

Article preview

The purpose of this work is to find the analytical equation of the isoline value of minerals in the open mining of complex ore deposits. As the initial data, we used the data of the cross section of a complex deposit, where three types of minerals (main and two associated) are developed. In the Cartesian rectangular coordinate system are given coordinates of points that allow to build an approximation of the desired equation. The example of application of the method of least squares for construction of the specified dependence is considered. This algorithm is implemented in a computer program based on Microsoft Excel. Numerical results were obtained and graphs were plotted.

Language of facial expressions and gestures

Article preview

Most human communication is done through gestures, observing the distance between people. Most researchers have concluded that verbal modes are used to convey factual information, while non-verbal modes convey a person's feelings and emotions. When we say that a person is receptive or has intuition, we are referring to their ability to understand the nonverbal cues of others and compare them to verbal ones. When we say that we sense lies in the words of the interlocutor, we actually find a discrepancy between the words spoken and the facial expressions, gestures. The source base for this study was various books on rhetoric and speech culture.

On the origins and formation of administrative justice in Russia

Article preview

Relevance of studying the formation and development of the institute of administrative justice in Russia is associated with the problems of direct action of constitutional norms relating to administrative legal proceedings. A brief historical overview of the stages of development of this institute is given. The need for clear regulation of legal relations in the field of administrative justice is shown. Administrative justice can function effectively only if there is a sufficiently developed legal system. The formation of Russia's legal system also requires the creation of bodies of administrative legal proceedings. Currently, the bill "On Administrative Courts in the Russian Federation" is being widely discussed.
