Geodinamical variability as a cause of natural disasters and technogenic catastrophes
- Authors:
- L. K. Gorshkov
- Z. B. Dekusar
Geodynamical variability is a cause of different natural disasters, such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, earthflows and seismic sea spillages. Natural disasters can activate technogenic catastrophes (building and construction failures, coal-mine explosions, dam integrity disturbance etc.). Technogenic catastrophes, in their turn, are able to originate such natural disasters as dam lake occurrence; the Earth crust’s surges with hazard consequences can be provoked by oil and gas extraction performance. Examples of natural disasters and technogenic catastrophes, factors of their origin, the phenomena prediction and avoidance recommendations have been shared in the following article.

The determination of the volume stress-strain conditions of the soil massif in the face area of the tunnel in conditions of drafting with using of contledge of the face
- Authors:
- A. G. Protosenya
- N. A. Belyakov
In this learned article the analysis of reinforcing effect, which appears during the process of the drilling of tunnels with using of contledge of the face which applied in tunnel boring machines, is adduced. By applying of the finite-elements method the family of graphical relations, which reflects the processes of the development of displacements, is approached. For the reason of analysis of these relations the optimal value of contledge of the face if maximum permissible displacements of the earth surface are known have been suggested. The influence of the main strength characteristics of Couloumb – Mohrs’s theory of strength on stability of the face of the tunnel and the necessary value of contledge of the tunnel’s face are defined.

The natural and technogenic factors effect on exploitation reliability of subway tunnels located in Upper Vendian clays are analyzed. It is noted what the fractured clays has been studied during the exploring of the first metropolitan lines. It is emphasized what the intensity of clay fracturing increases in thalweg zones of paleo-valleys within the bounds of which the quantity of underground water leakages in tunnels increases. The hydrodynamic and hydrochemistry conditions of Vendian high head horizon (lied under clays) influence on deformation and destruction of tunnels lining are investigated. The reduction of clays shear strength parameters under the interaction of clays and liquid phases is experimentally studied.
