Abstract
While mining coal seams with caving there is air flow through a caving zone, which depends on the used ventilation system. Air flow into a caving zone is one of the factors causing a fire hazard. Therefore, it is important to know air flow velocity distribution in goaf as it is one of the factors allowing for the selection of the proper method for fighting coal self-combustion.
