Platinum specialization of supergene nickel deposits on ultramafic massifs of the Urals

Article preview

This paper presents an analysis of geochemical data obtained as a result of persistent research of the Buruktal, Ufalei, Elov and others supergene nickel deposits of the Urals on the content of precious metals. Content and distribution of platinum group elements, gold and silver in oxide–silicate nickel ores are compared with their content in initial dunite-harzburgite bedrock. It was revealed that all the PGE accumulate in supergene nickel deposits. Geochemical specialization of PGE mineralization of supergene nickel deposits is determined by palladium and platinum, while in dunite-harzburgite substrate of primary ophiolitic massifs major platinoids are ruthenium, osmium and iridium. Pt/Pd ratio is generally less than 1, i.e. palladium is dominating in them with some exceptions.

Isolation of promising areas to drill for unconventional hydrocarbons petrikovskih sediments Davydovskogo deposit Pripyat Trough

Article preview

Pripyat Trough is the only oil basin in the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Mining is carried out within the basin for 50 years. During this time, the proportion of active stocks decreased significantly, while the share of hard-to-inventories increased. Therefore, due to the depletion of traditional reserves, urgent problem arises in the study and production of unconventional hydrocarbon traps. To this type of traps are Petrikov deposits Davydov field. These deposits have low permeability and capacitive properties, but at the same time in a number of wells in the test sediment in Colon yielded commercial oil inflows. Some of the well in a certain period of development led oil from Petrikov deposits. In similar deposits Rechitsa field yielded commercial oil inflows in drilling horizontal wells with hydraulic fracturing. Until recently, the reservoir Petrikov deposits was listed among the off-balance sheet reserves after drilling – reserves transferred to the balance of C1. Therefore, the input to the development of stranded there is a need to identify the most promising area for drilling horizontal wells, followed by hydraulic fracturing. To perform this work was carried out pointwise interpretation of GIS for all wells Davydov field, the results of which built the geological and petrophysical model of the deposit. Also, the analysis of core samples, the results of drilling. Produced dismemberment Petrikov deposits on two subhorizon on the results of the interpretation of GIS and well logs. The outcome of the work performed is a recommended site for drilling.

Technical and technological solutions to ensure stability of downhole drilling motors

Article preview

The article shows research analysis of engineering and technological solutions that aimed at improving the efficiency of drilling wells using optimization of dynamic of work downhole drill-ing motors. As the technical solutions that reduce vibration, considered two options of construc-tion of the power section. A first embodiment involves the production of a hollow rotor which can reduce its moment of inertia. The second solution is the production of modular rotor, which are changing the eccentricity (misalignment) of rotating parts of the engine. The research of fluctuations throughout the length of the power section of the working bodies and the spindle of the engine, taking into account changes in its energy characteristics has been con-ducted to ensure stable operation of the engine in a well, identifying optimal loading parameters. Indicators of shaft speed ensuring minimum vibration amplitude of the engine has been Iden-tified. Optimal speed range of the rotor to prevent buckling of the BHA and to sustain its operation is shown to be between 15-20 % of the frequency of the engine at idle. The maximum reduction in speed during the drilling process should not exceed 30 % by conducted research.

The modern technology of drilling and casing of well during the exploration of gas hydrates

Article preview

In the paper, the perspectives of exploration and completion of gas hydrate fields and the drilling problems in the gas hydrates of the northwest china are studied. It has been established, that the main reasons of complications in the Muli field are the secondary hydrate formation on the walls of the well and drilling assembly and ice formation inside the set cement during the well drilling and completion in permafrost. It has been shown, that in the areas with permafrost during the drilling of the layers containing gas hydrates, temperature and pressure changes can lead to the dissociation of hydrates. At the same time, pressure increase in the annular space due to the gas release, can lead to the secondary formation of gas hydrates, drill string stuck, ceasing of drilling fluid circulation, which is the reason of serious trouble in the wellbore. The results of the research on the development of drilling fluids compositions, which lower the drilling troubles of permafrost, are presented. Comparative experiments have been conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of thermodynamic and kinetic inhibitors, which prevent the repeated hydrate formation. It has been established, that the kinetic inhibitors have the clear advantage: they have good inhibiting effects even with low amounts of additives. In the laboratory conditions, the researches have been conducted to evaluate the phase equilibrium of gas hydrates during their reaction with the water solutions, containing kinetic inhibitor PVP. A thin clay drilling mud has been developed on the water base, providing the holding of the temperature in the level of –2 °С and its effectiveness for the gas hydrate fields in the PRC has been shown. Casing effectiveness of unstable rocks during the drilling in the conditions of negative temperatures inside the well largely depends on their physical-mechanical properties, composition and the technical indicators of cement materials. The authors suggest the composition of quick-setting cements based on aluminum binding materials. It has been established, that the analyzed compositions have the ability to considerably improve the results of cementing.

Article preview

Modern diagnostic systems do not always satisfy the requirements of the oil workers. At the moment, it is impossible to assess the overall technical condition of the pipeline without huge costs on operation diagnostic system. The article deals with the main problems of diagnostics of oil pipelines. The principle of operation of the pipeline system diagnostics using pulsed DC mag-netic field. This system allows you to assess the long section of the pipeline without interfering with the operation of the plant. A large network of pipelines can be controlled by separate sections that are connected to the console controller at a time. These sites can be branched. They must be connected by analogy with the four-pole. For information carrier assumes a constant magnetic field, the range of spread of the ferromagnetic conductor is not limited. The block diagram of the proposed diagnostic system with a brief description of each item is present in the article. The basic calculation power of the magnetic field. Show original signal, and the signal is converted because of the fault of the pipe walls: cracks, cavities, orifices. Walking through these places in the line, the magnetic field at the injury site experienced reflection, refraction, inter-ference, creating extra- that distorts the rectangular modulation constant magnetic field.

Vibrodiagnostics of the technical state slurry pumps

Article preview

Analysis of the work hydrotransport systems in processing plants shows that the efficiency of this type transport does not match its technical capabilities: the high laboriousness involved in the operation of the equipment, high hydroabrasive wear of slurry pumps and pipelines, low working life pumps, high metal consumption and energy. The main reason for the lack of effectiveness of hydraulic transport is hydroabrasive wear impellers of slurry pumps, causing rising levels of vibra-tion pumps, reducing the pressure characteristics, general technical state of hydrotransport system and as a result - low pumps life, not exceeding 500 hours of continuous operation. In paper, it is shown that as a criterion of period normal operation slurry pump can be used coefficient of techni-cal state, the value of which is proportional to the relative head, degree of hydroabrasive wear of the impeller and time of continuous operating. The coefficient technical state of slurry pump can be represented as a function of current flow rate and the RMS value of vibration velocity. The re-sults of theoretical and experimental studies used to develop algorithms and techniques express-diagnosis and monitoring of slurry pumps in hydrotransport system, data which indicate the need for routine maintenance of pumping equipment.

Energy- efficient control of asynchronous motor drive with current refinement of the loss minimum on the basis of fuzzy logic

Article preview

Currently, asynchronous electric drive on the basis of semiconductor frequency converters is widespread because of the relative simplicity and reliability of the design, the use of digital control systems, providing the accuracy and flexibility of process control, which allows for a significant increase in product quality, reduction in energy consumption and improvement of the enterprise profitability. In spite of these advantages, the problem of ensuring high energy efficiency of the drive in wide range of its operational modes is still not solved in full scale. The paper is devoted to the reduction of losses in the asynchronous drive on the basis of en-ergy-saving control algorithms that aim to ensure the desired mode of the driven mechanism while minimizing losses in copper and steel of the motor. On the basis of the motor model, taking into account magnetic losses, dependences of losses in the copper and steel, as well as the total loss from the absolute slip have been derived for different operating points of the drive. The optimal values of the absolute slip for different speeds of the rotor have been obtained for use in the con-trollers ensuring operation of the drive at maximum efficiency, highest power factor and minimum of the stator current. For minimizing the losses in the drive when changing the motor parameters it has been offered the combined method based on the method of loss model and iterative method of searching the minimum of power consumption. The effectiveness of the proposed control system using fuzzy logic is confirmed by comparing the graphs of losses and efficiency, obtained at using a traditional control law and the optimal control law.

Multicriteria estimation of bearing capacity of geomaterials

Article preview

In the article the problem of an estimation of bearing capacity of geomaterials as a deform-able solid is considered in the current configuration, which may be as the reference (undeformed) or the actual (deformed). We propose an original variational approach to the problem for stresses in selected subdomains, in which, depending on different engineering considerations, average in-tegral values of different component of stresses are estimated and from their aggregate the bearing capacity of the current configuration of the solid is estimated regarding to given external influ-ences. In each of the selected subdomain the weakest stress field is obtained which is globally bal-anced with external influences. For example, the assessment of the average integral hydrostatic pressure is needed for study of bearing capacity of geomaterials.

Analysis of charge space distribution influence on electric adhesion forces

Article preview

Modeling ideas of physical and chemical processes when using an anodic bonding for materials connection are developed. The kinetics of a charge accumulation in an electrode region in a dielectric is considered. The thickness of a charge layer, electric fields strength and value of the ponderomotive pressure providing connection of materials are calculated. It is shown that the necessary ponderomotive pressure resulting in a dielectric-to-conductor seal is normally about ten megapascal and the time required is about ten minutes. The appearance of great pulling electric fields at anodic bonding process with a conductor surface to dielectric turns out to be possible due to the interlayer polarization developing in dielectric under the action of electric voltage. This results in a negative charge accumulation in a layer of small thickness beside anode. Thus applied electric voltage is distributed not through the whole thickness of a dielectric, but in fact is applied to a narrow area of the three-dimensional charge be-side anode. Arising strong electric fields force the connected materials to unite. The physical and mathematical models for force characteristics of non-uniform electric field are developed. Dependences of parameters of anodic bonding junction on time are considered. The expressions allowing to choose well-founded time of formation of anodic bonding junction are obtained, intensity of electrostatic fields and forces in dynamics is calculated. Research of a charge intermittence influence on electrostatic field strength has shown a considerable differences on small distances to the charged surface between carried out and traditional ways of calculation.

Increasing the accuracy of the fast laser measurments transparent solid and liquid films thicknesses

Article preview

Nondestructive optical methods for measuring of the «thick» films thickness of the order of 0,001-1,00 mm are analyzed. It is shown that using the laser beam radiation and modern optical and electronic schemes possible to decrease the time of single measurement to 1ms and less at the measuring frequency of 10-50 Hz. The possibility of measuring thickness and spreading coefficient and evaporation kinetics of liquid films is demonstrated. A new computer method of the data processing aimed to determine the film thickness from the angle dependence of the laser beam reflection coefficient by the film is offered. The offered procedure and the experimental technique realizing it permits to decrease the thickness determination uncertainty to the order of ten.

History and philosophy of science in technical and mining-geological education in modern Russia

Article preview

The paper describes the manner to teach history and philosophy of technical sciences in today’s Russia. The conventional concept of philosophy of science is examined, in particular, in its application to technical sciences. Didactic peculiarities of the history and philosophy of science course as it is taught in Russia to PhD students, within an example of academician V.S. Stepin’s manuals, are analyzed. Concepts of the role philosophical courses play to enrich students’ scholarly training are discussed. It is underlined that the didactics based upon the belief into the rationality of the whole «world system» and into the right way in understanding its «foundations» is still preserved everywhere. It is important for philosophers to deal with describing and studying contexts which are not taken into account by disciplinary paradigms. Three levels, on which student and PhD students meet philosophy, form a unity. Collaboration and intellectual exchanges between teachers and students on the two highest levels can be turned into an abundant source of the essential information for teachers.
