Article preview

Oil economy of Russia: current state and prospects for the future

Article preview

The huge importance of the oil industry for Russia is undeniable. But today the industry is not functioning at full capacity. After a dramatic decline in oil production in the first 5 years of perestroika (since the mid-1990s), it has decreased by 300mn tons per year. The reason for the decline in production is the lack of investment in production and exploration projects. The purpose of this article is to draw attention to the tax and legal aspects that could be used to make Russian oil projects more attractive for investment by foreign companies. But today it is still impossible to foresee whether a legal basis for an oil financial system can be created in Russia under the current conditions.

Logocentrism of Russian mentality: to the question of word meaning in Russian culture

Article preview

The thesis about the centrality and authority of the concept "word" in the mental space of Russian culture is put forward. In the Russian consciousness the word is understood not only as a semiotic symbol, but as an independent entity, valuable in itself and possessing creative "objectifying" potential. This attitude to the word is expressed not only in theory, i.e., in the observations of philosophers, theologians, and linguists, not only in the poetic practice of word artists, but also in everyday consciousness, in everyday conscious or unconscious reflexion.

Decomposition and technology of sparse matrixes in problems of research of complex systems

Article preview

Diakoptic approaches to modeling and calculations of complex systems are considered. Such approaches envisage the construction of systematic procedures for de-composition of the system under study into a combination of indecomposable subsystems and effective recomposition of partial solutions of subsystems, taking into account the links between them, into a global solution of the metasystem.

Ethics of catastrophes

Article preview

The study of special moral experiences of people arising as a result of emergencies associated with accidents and disasters is an urgent and very complex problem of ethics. Virtually everyone who has experienced the force of the impact of the elements, man-made accidents or has been in close contact with the victims of disasters, comprehends the tragedy in the categories of good and evil, the proper and the existent, and the behavior of people in extreme situations is evaluated as heroic, courageous, cowardly or cowardly. In the most general form, all phenomena of moral consciousness, behavior and activity of people during and after the catastrophe can be covered by such a concept as "the morality of the catastrophe".

Electric methods for identification of diamonds and jewelry stones

Article preview

A comprehensive analysis of modern methods used for diamond identification has been carried out. It is shown that high thermal conductivity cannot unambiguously testify to the authenticity of a diamond, since synthetic imitations of silicon carbide have recently appeared. It is shown that electrical methods of gemstone diagnostics are promising but not yet sufficiently developed. A set of innovative electrocalcium methods for diamond identification is proposed. Techniques for measuring high resistivity, dielectric permittivity and surface potentials, which can be used in the procedure of diamond identification, are developed. An operational model has been tested in the study of new and traditional dielectric materials. The possibility of detecting differences in electrical and physical properties of externally identical materials using this method is shown.

Woman-manager in modern Russia

Article preview

The article focuses on the problem of the position of a woman leader in modern Russia. It is an urgent topic in our time. The article describes the current situation in Russian and world business. The reasons for unequal treatment of women in business are considered, socio-psychological characteristics of women entrepreneurs are highlighted, examples of various studies are given. The aim of the paper is to convince readers that in business and politics the main role should be played by knowledge, experience and professionalism regardless of gender. Only in this way will we achieve a more civilized level of our economy.

Role of physical culture in maintenance and restoration of working capacity of mining engineers

Article preview

The data show the undoubted influence of climatic factor on such important indirect indicators of organism condition as labor productivity and injury frequency. Unfavorable impact of production factors increases the possibility of development of colds, pneumoconiosis, dust bronchitis and vibration disease among miners [3]. Thus, the effect of summation of negative environmental factors (geographical, social, etc.) and technogenic factors (working conditions) leads to negative consequences, especially manifested in the conditions of development and exploration of subsoil resources of the North. Physical culture, in this case, is one of the most important means of restoring health and ensuring normal working capacity and life activity of mining engineers.

Experience of application of small angle X-ray scattering for detection of nano-homogeneities in irizing labrador crystals

Article preview

Irizing and non-irizing labrador have been studied by small-angle X-ray scattering for a wavelength of 1.51angstrom (Cu-alpha). Plates of 0.1-0.2 mm thickness cut perpendicular to the c crystallographic axis were investigated. For the experiment, an X-ray setup with a U-shaped Kratky collimator was used. Two types of scattering were detected for the first time: anisotropic and isotropic. Anisotropic scattering is characteristic only for irizing labradors. It is observed at angles of 1-5 mrad and decreases with increasing scattering angle. The isotropic scattering has a maximum at an angle of 8 mrad, the position of which does not depend on the irization of the sample. Anisotropic scattering is presumably associated with defects in the structure of irizing crystals, characteristic sizes of which are 500-1500 angstroms. Isotropic scattering is apparently determined by structural elements with linear dimensions of 150-180 Å.

Determination of heat losses during steam injection into oil reservoir

Article preview

One of the methods of oil production intensification is water vapor injection into oil reservoirs. The efficiency of this process generally depends on the amount of useful heat utilized in the oil reservoir. One of the most important parameters of thermocouple treatment of the reservoir is the amount of heat di rectly supplied to the oil reservoir. For its determination it is necessary to know the heat energy losses in surface communications and oil wells, as well as losses associated with heat exchange processes in the oil reservoir and surrounding rocks. High heterogeneity of oil reservoirs complicates the use of continuous steam injection into oil reservoirs. The time required to warm up the reservoir to a given temperature is a determining factor for theoretical analysis of heat losses due to the unsteady heat exchange process in such conditions. The paper presents the basic principles of the heat loss estimation method, as well as the results obtained in determining the relationship between the time required to warm up the oil reservoir to a given temperature and the temperature of steam.

Nanostructural regulation and interrelation of water repellent and protective properties of coatings on steel

Article preview

The data on corrosion of Mk.3 steel with different coatings in atmospheric air containing potassium chloride, hydrogen chloride and sulfur dioxide impurities below the maximum permissible concentrations have been analyzed. A linear dependence between hydrophobic behavior and protective properties of coatings applied on steel was revealed both for standard compositions and for compositions with nanostructured filler (1 wt. %) obtained by hydride solid-phase synthesis.
