Resistance of oil shale layers to mechanical fracture
In 1964-1965 at the mine No. 3 of Slantsy Combine the resistance of layers of the industrial oil shale stack to mechanical destruction was determined. Resistance (strength) was determined in three ways: 1) by the method of pushing with the help of the POC device (strength coefficient f); 2) by the method of cutting from the open face with the help of the DKS-3 device (strength index A); 3) by the energy indicators of the Ural-33 cutting machine (strength index Avr)....

Measurement of hydro-mixture density by radioisotope density meter PZHR-2M
During the research of the hydrofilling complex operation mode, a radioisotope density meter PZHR-2M with the measuring range of 0.5 g/cm3 was used to measure the density of the hydraulic mixture. This range in some cases did not meet the conditions of the hydrofill complex operation. Often the mixing device could not provide complete filling of the pipeline. Then air moved along the pipeline with the pulp, and the device showed the density value less than one. For correct evaluation of the work of the stowing complex it was necessary to know the character of pulp movement with incomplete utilization of its cross-section. For this purpose the measuring limits of the instrument were extended by means of lead tared plates placed between the source unit and the pipeline. By changing the thickness and number of plates, it was possible to have several measurement ranges: 0-0.5; 0.5-1.0; 1.0-1.5 g/cm3 ...

Testing of the PK-7 combine at the mine No. 3 of the Leningradslanets Trust.
- Authors:
- M. D. Kolomiitsov
The tests were carried out in 1965 to determine the efficiency of destruction of layers of industrial oil shale stack by the executive body of the combine, which is a milling-type rebound crown. The rotation speed of the crown is 58 r/min from the electric motor KOF-22-4k (25 kW). Rotation of the crown in the vertical, horizontal planes and feed back and forth (0,5 m) are carried out by hydraulic cylinders. Two hydraulic jacks provide the harvester's support between the roof and the soil. The hydraulic jack pumps are driven by the second electric motor KOF-22-4k. Thus, the total installed power of the motors for rotation and feeding of the crown is 50 kW ...

Conveyor transportation in vertical mine shafts.
- Authors:
- A. M. Factorovich
One of the progressive directions in the development of mechanization and automation of mine transport is the complete conveyorization of transport from the loading face to the bunkers on the surface. However, it is difficult to carry out complete conveyorization, because for one link of the transport scheme - along vertical shafts - has not yet developed a sufficiently economic and reliable method of conveyor transport ...

- Authors:
- I. F. Bobrov
- Ya. P. Greenberg
At Slantsy plant in 1965 there was carried out an experimental notching on the upper part of the limestone “slab” layer, where there is a 0,04 m thick interlayer of clay shale with lower strength. At the total height of the cutting slot of 115-120 mm, the destroyed part of the limestone was 75-80 mm, and 40 mm were in the clay shale interlayer. The cutting was made by the Ural-33 cutting machine mounted on skids above the scraper conveyor, with a bar length of 2 g and an unauthorized seven-line chain. The useful depth of the cut was 1.7 m. The machine was operated at a reduced cutting speed (1.6 m/sec) with I-80 cutters, whose back angle was increased from 5 to 15°.

Application of the rope traction organ in conveyors
- Authors:
- A. M. Factorovich
- O. D. Serebrennikov
Widespread use of conveyor transportation in some cases is limited by the shortcomings of traction and load-carrying bodies of existing types of conveyors. Belt conveyors with rubberized fabric (cotton and synthetic) belt have a relatively small length per drive and short belt life. The disadvantage of belt conveyors with rubber tether belt is the high cost of the belt and its repair (amortization of the cost of the belt is up to 50% of the total cost of transportation). Belt-and-channel conveyors have a complex belt design and, accordingly, its cost is high. Belt-chain, slat and scraper conveyors have a small length per drive, low strength and very high weight of the traction body ...

- Authors:
- M. D. Kolomiitsov
The existing technology of oil shale extraction provides for simultaneous extraction of the entire industrial oil shale stack. This provides the fastest and least labor-intensive destruction of oil shale and allows for mechanized loading in chambers - longwall faces in the case of bulk excavation. However, this method leads to mixing of oil shale and rock, and manual sampling in longwall faces is very labor-intensive and unpromising in terms of increasing labor productivity ...

Recently this question has aroused great interest of researchers. - Authors:

Application of computer technology is one of the ways to improve the operational management of railway transport at powerful coal mines with a large number of mining equipment and a developed network of railway tracks. Preliminary determination of the effectiveness of new methods of management is best to produce modeling the work of the mines. At the same time, an idea of the effectiveness of new methods and systems of operational management is given by comparing the results of modeling and the results of actual operation of the mine. In this paper we consider the essence of modeling by the method of actual shifts, its positive and negative properties and the scope of application ...
