Algorithm of reliability assessment of the hydrotransport system with unloaded reserve and recovery

Article preview

A slurry pumping system is considered, in which there are several working lines consisting of pumps in series and several reserve lines, which are switched on in case of failure of the main working.

Investigation of axial loads of ground pumps in schemes with sequential inclusion

Article preview

Axial hydraulic force is the sum of unbalanced forces acting on the impeller in the axial direction. They arise from the interaction of the impeller with the flow of hydraulic mixture and are balanced by the axial reaction in the bearings mounted on the pump shaft ...

Prevention of emergency modes at start-up of hydraulic transportation plants

Article preview

There are known cases when start-up processes of hydraulic conveying plants were accompanied by accidents. The cause of such accidents is a hydraulic shock arising due to the formation of “plugs” and rupture of flow continuity at the moment of switching on the subsequent stages in schemes with several pumping stations operating in series. “Plugging” in the pipelines occurs, as a rule, at previous stops.

Measurement of hydro-mixture density by radioisotope density meter PZHR-2M

Article preview

During the research of the hydrofilling complex operation mode, a radioisotope density meter PZHR-2M with the measuring range of 0.5 g/cm3 was used to measure the density of the hydraulic mixture. This range in some cases did not meet the conditions of the hydrofill complex operation. Often the mixing device could not provide complete filling of the pipeline. Then air moved along the pipeline with the pulp, and the device showed the density value less than one. For correct evaluation of the work of the stowing complex it was necessary to know the character of pulp movement with incomplete utilization of its cross-section. For this purpose the measuring limits of the instrument were extended by means of lead tared plates placed between the source unit and the pipeline. By changing the thickness and number of plates, it was possible to have several measurement ranges: 0-0.5; 0.5-1.0; 1.0-1.5 g/cm3 ...

Influence of the electric drive system on the dredger characteristic

Article preview

Manufacturers perform bench tests and performance tests of suction dredgers on water. When selecting a suction dredger for specific conditions, it is necessary to recalculate the performance characteristics from water and slurry. Insufficiently developed theory of centrifugal dredgers, does not yet have a strictly justified calculation formulas. Therefore, some researchers on the basis of numerous tests proposed calculation dependencies, including empirical coefficients that depend on the design and type size of the machine ...
