Abstract
A foreign language as a subject taught at a technical university aids the development of the mental processes of students, improves their verbal abilities, builds up habits of training, self-teaching, self discipline and control, accomplishes mental work culture and makes a considerable contribution to the training of future specialists. The key problem now facing a university teacher is the underresearched control of the learning process.
