Abstract

The paper presents results of research into changes of the current overburden volumes at the initial stage of open pit mining at various conditions of the mining operation. A diagram of changes in the intensity of stripping operations together with a diagram of the minimal current overburden volumes enable to suggest a possibility to introduce an averaging method for service overburden ratio and to develop the most rational form of the diagram to secure the maximum economic effect from mining operations.
