Current state and prospects of development of electrothermomechanical destruction of frozen rocks

Article preview

The most characteristic feature of frozen rock mining is its high energy intensity and cost. Ice cemented loose rocks at low subzero temperatures become so strong that their excavation without preliminary preparation turns out to be ineffective. ...

Measurement of complex transmission coefficient of microwave quadrupoles

Article preview

It is well known that there is no single measurement method for determining the modulus and phase of the complex transfer coefficient of two-port networks in the range of high and microwave frequencies. For definition of these quantities in the specified range of frequencies it is necessary to use a number of measuring devices working on different principles and providing far from equal accuracy of measurements. This diminishes the value of the measurement results and the possibility of their use, for example, for determining the dielectric constants of materials.

About the input impedance of a microwave antenna placed in a well

Article preview

The behavior of an antenna in a well in terms of its input impedance is of interest in connection with the investigation of the possibility of enlarging wells in frozen rocks to large diameters by using microwave energy.

Calculation of the generator for high-frequency electrothermomechanical destruction of frozen rocks

Article preview

The electrode system and the heated frozen rock form a so-called operating capacitor, whose characteristics are capacitance and loss tangent. Knowing these characteristics, it is possible to determine all the elements of the high-frequency circuit that constitutes the power source of the technological process. ...

High-frequency heating method and method of control over cement slurry hardening during wellbore fixing.

Article preview

Creation of cement pipes directly in the wellbore is an urgent problem. Cement casing pipes can act as a production string when drilling for water, as well as isolate certain trouble zones associated with wellbore collapse or loss of drilling fluid.
