Determining the thickness of reinforced concrete slabs during the transition from surface to underground mining operations

Article preview

The methodology of calculation of reinforced concrete slabs constructed at the bottom of the pit to isolate the underground mine during the transition to underground mining operations is described. The conclusion is made about the inadmissibility of a simplified approach to the definition of such slabs, which does not take into account the technology of development of underground reserves.

The nature of change and current efficiency factor of open pit electric locomotives

Article preview

As it is known, the simplest and most convenient method of testing traction motors operating in open-pit mining is the method based on determining the motor heating by the RMS (effective) current. Knowledge of the effective current of electric locomotives is also necessary for a number of calculations related to the electrification of quarry railway transportation: to determine the energy losses in the electric circuit of the electric locomotive, energy losses in the contact network, etc.

Regularities of load distribution of quarry traction substations and traction network sections

Article preview

The work of quarry railway transport is characterized firstly by a closed, continuously repeating cyclicity, secondly, a relatively stable number of trains engaged in the transportation of minerals and waste rock for a very long time, thirdly, a limited number of types of electric locomotives and, consequently, and types of trains by weight ...
