Adaptive phasic automatic control system for concentrators

Article preview

An adaptive phasic automatic control system designed to stabilize various parameters of technological processes of concentrating plants is considered. The system adapts to unregulated, unaccounted for in the basic calculation changes in technological parameters.

Quasi-optimal control of concentrate drying process in a drum dryer

Article preview

Energy consumption for drying of concentrates at concentrators is at least 10-15% of all energy costs of mining enterprises, so it is very important to optimally control this process to minimize energy consumption.

Using the predictive signal for solving the problem of optimal control of the drying drum

Article preview

Previously, the authors proposed a mathematical model of the process of cake drying in a rotating drying drum with longitudinal feeding of the drying agent. On the basis of this model was set and solved by methods of classical calculus of variations the problem of optimal control of the drying unit ...

Influence Effect of increase improving the of accuracy of automatic control systems of for the concentrate drying process on their economic efficiency

Article preview

Widely spread at concentration plants, the process of concentrate drying in rotating drying drums is a very complex object of automatic control. Therefore, the stabilizing automatic control systems (ACS) for these processes are also complex, multi-loop and multiply connected. The article attempts to determine the influence of various factors on the required accuracy of the ACS for drying being created, from the standpoint of the expected economic efficiency of these systems.

Synthesis of an automatic control system for the drying process in a rotating drying drum

Article preview

The drying drum as an object of automatic control was considered earlier. The main control actions in this system are the temperature and velocity of the drying agent, while the load (the flow rate of cake at the inlet) acts as the main disturbance. On the basis of the analytical synthesis performed, an operating model of the automatic control system (ACS) was built, which successfully passed tests and was accepted for implementation on all drying drums of the concentration plant of the Kovdor Mining and Processing Combine.

Method of drawing up structural-functional schemes of automatic control systems of existing objects

Article preview

One of the first stages in the synthesis of automatic control systems (ACS) is the preparation of the structural block diagram. Unlike the subsequent stages (mathematical synthesis of optimal dynamic characteristics, determination of dynamic characteristics of corrective devices, etc.), the method of synthesizing the structural block diagram is poorly developed. We are not aware of any engineering method for obtaining the structural block diagram of an ACS to be designed, even if it is an existing but not yet automated object.

Experimental dynamic characteristics of phosphorite concentrate drying process

Article preview

The process of drying phosphorite concentrate in a rotating drying drum is an object of automatic control with a variety of variables involved in the process and their complex interrelation and interdependence. Obtaining a mathematical description of such an object is a necessary stage of its automation. The description can be represented in the form of a system of differential, integro-differential, integral and similar equations or in the form of transfer functions. Compilation of differential equations by the analytical method using physical laws of heat and mass transfer leads to a system of equations in partial derivatives, which are not always practically suitable. In addition, some constant coefficients of these equations are unknown and cannot be determined on the actual object.

Experimental determination of dynamic parameters of a drying drum as an object of automatic control

Article preview

As is known, many objects (sites) of automatic control can be experimentally investigated by applying step or pulse inputs to the object, obtaining respectively the step or pulse response at the output. Determining the dynamic parameters of the object from its pulse response is preferable to the step response, because, firstly, it gives more accurate results and, secondly, conducting an experiment with the impact in the form of a pulse is less disruptive to the normal course of the technological process. When taking the dynamic characteristics by this method, the following is assumed: 1) all disturbing influences during the experiment can be stabilized within certain limits so that their influence on the output parameter can be neglected; 2) the pulse disturbance does not entail significant nonlinear distortions of the transient process.
