Theoretical and applied aspects of scenario analysis of investment projects of enterprises in the mineral resource sector of the economy are considered, its advantages and disadvantages are analyzed. Taking into account the organizational and economic features of mineral resources management, a number of new modifications of the scenario analysis method, aimed at solving an urgent problem - reducing the information uncertainty in assessing the expected efficiency and risk of investment projects, are proposed. The peculiarity of the proposed new modifications is the use of the interval-probabilistic approach in the implementation of the scenario analysis procedure. This approach is based on a moderately pessimistic system of preferences in obtaining point values of the investment project initial parameters. Fishburn estimates and the hierarchy analysis method were used to reduce subjective uncertainty. The maximum likelihood values in the sense of the maximum a priori probability are used as expected estimates. An additional indicator of risk assessment, which characterizes the probability of the event that the net present value of the project will take a value less than the specified one, is proposed. When analyzing one project, this indicator is more informative than the standard deviation. A statistical hypothesis was tested on the improvement of the validity of investment decisions developed using the modified scenario analysis method compared to the standard method.
The article shows the advantages of using modern electronic learning tools in the training of specialists for the mineral and raw materials complex and considers the basic principles of organizing training using these tools. The experience of using electronic learning tools using foreign teaching materials and involving foreign professors is described. A special attention is given to the electronic learning environment of the Cisco Networking Academy – Cisco NetAcad. The experience of teaching at the Networking Academy of the Saint-Petersburg Mining University is described. Details are given to modern virtual environments for laboratory work, such as Cisco Packet Tracer, GNS3 and Emulated Virtual Environment. The experience of using electronic learning technologies at the University of Economics of Bratislava is considered. It actively cooperates with a number of universities of other countries, such as the University of International Business (Almaty), the Eurasian National University named after LN Gumilyov (Astana) and the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Knowledge (Kazan).
The article shows the benefits of using unified communications for the management of mineral resources companies and discusses some principles of a modern corporate communications system providing the guaranteed encryption of all transmitted information (voice, text and files). The system structure, its operations and technologies, necessary for the creation of such a system, are substantiated. The secure corporate communication system developed at the National Mineral Resources University (Mining University) is described, and its comparison with other domestic and foreign systems is provided.
Any industrial agglomeration is a territory, not only with a high concentration of industrial facilities, but also with high population density. This, in turn, is an essential prerequisite to problems associated with the large volume of waste consumption. To solve these problems it is necessary not only to improve the technology for processing different kinds of waste, but also to establish a system by their rapid collection and transport.
At the current rate of urban growth, increasing amounts of municipal waste. The process of collecting and transporting the waste to organize specialized transport companies. In modern conditions it is necessary to modernize the process, which requires the use of advanced information technologies. Creating a management information system capable of increase the efficiency of transport companies, will help solve the problem of municipal waste, and, consequently, to improve sanitary and environmental conditions in cities.
Some problems which arise during development of Internet-conferencing systems are considered. Methods of their solution which has been developed for SAVii system are described.
The application of Internet-conferences systems to improve the management of mining production is considered. The developed system named SAVii is described.
Formation and transformation stages of computer science and computer technologies department of mining institute are considered. The characteristic of educational and research work at the department and its contribution to the task of efficiency increasing of mining production is showed. The tasks of department at the present stage are defined.
The article presents research work of the Informatics and Computer Technologies Department on the application of modern computer technologies for teaching and testing systems. Two research works are described: a universal system of computer testing and a system for assessing the quality of articulation of Russian digits. The universal system of computer testing is developed on the basis of new information technologies, testing records and testing itself. The testing system is oriented to a wide range of uses, including knowledge control in the learning process and test taking. The system for assessing the quality of articulation of the ten Russian digits is based on modern advances in speech technology and allows you to evaluate both the overall quality of articulation and pronunciation errors of word length. An experimental study of the system allowed us to conclude that the assessment it produces corresponds to the experts' assessment in about 73% of cases.
