Abstract
The work of the successor of the Geological Committee, VSEGEI, since 1929, is characterized. Among the key events of the institution's history the following were singled out: the concentration of work on solving main national economic problems, the beginning of work on creating the first polistaya State Geological Map on scale 1:1000000, a scientific summary of the results of geological, metallogenic and methodological research for the 100th anniversary of the Geological Committee - VSEGEI, and others.
