Abstract

The issues of creating echolocation devices for measuring the depth of blast wells are considered. Control of the depth of the drilled wells is important to improve the reliability of information about the chipped massif. This helps to reduce mineral loss and improve crushing of the blasted massif. The first samples of sonars of this type were created at the Leningrad Mining Institute. Subsequently, according to the same scheme devices were developed at other enterprises. Dependences between borehole diameter and pulse frequency are given, as well as the results of studies of sonar resolving ability.
