Abstract

As part of Romania's efforts to create a market economy, it has become necessary to create an efficient national economic sector, which includes the mining industry. Modernization and increasing the profitability of the coal industry is a priority of Romania's national energy development strategy. This article attempts to present the restructuring strategy of the mining sector using a concrete example: the National Coal Company Petrosani.
