Abstract

The atmospheric column is a complex technological object. This is explained by the complexity of technological processes inherent to it and which are revealed through a significant number and variety of parameters of the processes defining their evolvement, numerous internal communications between parameters and their mutual influence. Accordingly, there appear problems with control over this installation in production plants. The given research is carried out to create an automated control system for the atmospheric column. The paper describes the design and the processes taking place in the atmospheric column. Its model was created with the HYSYS software by Aspentech. Basic input and output values for process, their correlation, ways to regulate, the purpose and criteria of control are determined by means of this model.
