Abstract

Processes of aluminum electrowinning are frequently accompanied by magnetic and hydrodynamic instability. This phenomena leads to deterioration of the process characteristics and has to be compensated by a corresponding control system. The paper gives a summary of data processing on operation of a subsystem designed to detect and compensate metal agitation and describes a trend in software for automatic process control systems to compensate magnetic and hydrodynamic instability.
