Abstract

A complex investigation of composition, physical and stress-and-strain properties of eluvial soils was carried out for the urban industrial zone of Nizhnekamsk. Dominating factors determining inhomogenity of the ground strata were revealed. Characteristics of eluvial soils formed on terrigenic (Nizhnekamsk) and carbonate (Kazan) Upper Permian sedimentary rocks were compared. Possible changes in properties of the eluvial grounds subjected to increasing industrial load were predicted.
