Abstract

Results of experimental measurements of thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity and volumetric heat capacity of natural and industrial materials sampled from basements of historical and cultural monuments are presented. Engineering and geological processes taking place in basements of monuments caused by frost penetration and thawing through have been forecast on the basis of the measured thermal properties using mathematical modeling.
