Exploration of faults by the refracted wave seismic method

Abstract

In exploration of faults by the refracted wave method, the criteria for their presence are changes on seismograms of the dynamic features of the recording at the transition of the refracted wave into the diffracted wave and the characteristic form of the hodographs. In the region of a fault, branches corresponding to the refracted wave and the diffracted wave can be distinguished on the refracted wave hodographs.
