Measurement of hydro-mixture density by radioisotope density meter PZHR-2M
Abstract
During the research of the hydrofilling complex operation mode, a radioisotope density meter PZHR-2M with the measuring range of 0.5 g/cm3 was used to measure the density of the hydraulic mixture. This range in some cases did not meet the conditions of the hydrofill complex operation. Often the mixing device could not provide complete filling of the pipeline. Then air moved along the pipeline with the pulp, and the device showed the density value less than one. For correct evaluation of the work of the stowing complex it was necessary to know the character of pulp movement with incomplete utilization of its cross-section. For this purpose the measuring limits of the instrument were extended by means of lead tared plates placed between the source unit and the pipeline. By changing the thickness and number of plates, it was possible to have several measurement ranges: 0-0.5; 0.5-1.0; 1.0-1.5 g/cm3 ...
