Investigation of the mechanism of motion of high saturation hydraulic mixtures

Article preview

Studies of the movement along the slurry lines of hydraulic mixtures with different degrees of saturation showed that this process is probabilistic, this is due to the random nature of the distribution of the frequency of pulsations of velocities and the occurrence of turbulent vortices in the flow. With increasing concentration of hydraulic mixture, the suspending capacity of the flow increases, while the intensity of its mechanical impact on the solid component increases, the probability of collision of particles among themselves increases.

Influence of parameters of hydraulic conveying on the process of ore hydraulic mixtures sludging

Article preview

Hydraulic transportation of ores is usually accompanied by a change in the particle size distribution of the transported material. This is especially characteristic for transportation of multifractional hydraulic mixtures along complex routes, with a significant difference in the marks of the beginning and end of the line.

Pipe wear depending on hydraulic conveying parameters

Article preview

The study of the physical essence of abrasive wear of pipes during hydraulic transportation of multifractional slurries makes it possible to solve one of the topical issues of this process - their durability and reliability. Recently this question has aroused great interest of researchers. The intensity and nature of hydro-abrasive wear of pipes determine the parameters justifying the mode of transportation of hydraulic mixture in pipelines; physical and mechanical properties of the transported slurry; physical and mechanical properties of the pipe material; chemical and mechanical properties of the carrier fluid ...

Measurement of hydro-mixture density by radioisotope density meter PZHR-2M

Article preview

During the research of the hydrofilling complex operation mode, a radioisotope density meter PZHR-2M with the measuring range of 0.5 g/cm3 was used to measure the density of the hydraulic mixture. This range in some cases did not meet the conditions of the hydrofill complex operation. Often the mixing device could not provide complete filling of the pipeline. Then air moved along the pipeline with the pulp, and the device showed the density value less than one. For correct evaluation of the work of the stowing complex it was necessary to know the character of pulp movement with incomplete utilization of its cross-section. For this purpose the measuring limits of the instrument were extended by means of lead tared plates placed between the source unit and the pipeline. By changing the thickness and number of plates, it was possible to have several measurement ranges: 0-0.5; 0.5-1.0; 1.0-1.5 g/cm3 ...

Investigation of the hydraulic feeder working process

Article preview

At hydraulic transportation of fine-grained materials for their delivery to the surface from depths exceeding 100 m, there is a necessity of feeding these materials by slurry pumps into the mine drainage pipeline through a special feeder. Such a feeder is a hollow cylinder, included in the network of the main drainage header. Special gate valves allow either to disconnect the feeder from the header at the moment of loading it with material, or to direct the pressure jet created by the main drainage pumps into the feeder cylinder at the moment of material washing out. In this way, the eroded material in the form of a slurry of low concentration (H : L up to 1 : 20) is discharged to the surface by the main dewatering header.
