At the Pavlodar aluminum smelter processed high-siliceous bauxite by a sequential method of Bayer sintering. In the near future here it is supposed to use bauxites of various deposits characterized by the increased content of carbonates ...
In the early fifties, for the first time it was established the exceptional importance for aluminum metallurgy of a peculiar process of introduction of alkali metals (and some other substances) into the interlayer space of carbon-graphite materials.
Melts containing titanium and zirconium chlorides are used in the production of refractory metals and their alloys. In particular, the electrolytic process of obtaining titanium zirconium powders was investigated. An equimolecular melt of NaCl and KS1 salts containing titanium di- and trichloride and zirconium tetrachloride was used as the electrolyte. The content of dissolved zirconium in the electrolyte did not exceed 0.8%.
