Concerning the possibility of an effective hadfield's steel cold-work hardening in the working conditions of the lining of spherical mills

Article preview

Taking a grinding of coal ball mill (type: BTM 400/800) operating without rocks as an example it is shown that a bombardment of the armour by grinding bodies made of steel 110G13L directly is capable to raise its hardness from 200 to 320HB at the depth of the cold-hardened layer up to 6,7 mm that will approximately 2 times increase its firmness to an abrasion. The time needed for the realization of an effective bombardment is 11 minutes, the period between strengthening cold – work hardenings is 25 days.

Automated calculation of optimal cutting modes during machining

Article preview

Constant growth of technological preparation of production and increase of requirements to the developed parameters and standards stipulates the necessity of wide use of modern computing means in the practice of technological calculations. A number of domestic analog devices have been created, which allow to determine numerical values of cutting parameters for machine tool operations. General machine-building standards of cutting modes presented in the form of functional dependencies obtained by approximation of the corresponding normative tables are taken as the initial normative base.

Optimal modes and reliability of hydrotransportation plants operation

Article preview

Hydraulic transportation of solid material is one of the important elements of the technological process of mining and processing of minerals. At present, the total length of hydraulic transportation lines in the USSR is more than 3 million km, and the volume of transported material - more than 300 million tons. ...

Investigation of the process of hydraulic mixtures thickening

Article preview

Hydraulic transportation of bulk materials is increasingly used in various sectors of the economy. Numerous studies conducted by various organizations show that the efficiency of hydraulic transport increases with increasing consistency. However, in many cases due to technical and technological conditions it is impossible to obtain flows of high saturation or use thickeners of hydraulic mixtures, as some of them cannot provide high concentration, others due to their design features (large overall dimensions, weight) cannot be used in the system of continuous transport. Therefore, the creation and introduction into production of new types of thickeners is currently of great importance.

Measurement of hydro-mixture density by radioisotope density meter PZHR-2M

Article preview

During the research of the hydrofilling complex operation mode, a radioisotope density meter PZHR-2M with the measuring range of 0.5 g/cm3 was used to measure the density of the hydraulic mixture. This range in some cases did not meet the conditions of the hydrofill complex operation. Often the mixing device could not provide complete filling of the pipeline. Then air moved along the pipeline with the pulp, and the device showed the density value less than one. For correct evaluation of the work of the stowing complex it was necessary to know the character of pulp movement with incomplete utilization of its cross-section. For this purpose the measuring limits of the instrument were extended by means of lead tared plates placed between the source unit and the pipeline. By changing the thickness and number of plates, it was possible to have several measurement ranges: 0-0.5; 0.5-1.0; 1.0-1.5 g/cm3 ...
