In March 2015 the scientific community celebrated the 110th anniversary of the birth of one of the founders of the hydrogeological and engineering-geological school, an honouree of State Award of the USSR and the Byelorussian SSR, Academician Gerasim Vasilyevich Bogomolov. The article is devoted to several important stages of the development of Russian hydrogeology, which are primarily associated with the research conducted by G.V.Bogomolov. His role in the development of hydrogeology in Belarus, i.e. theory and practice of the use of groundwater, is emphasized. This article is about the man who was a brilliant geologist, scholar, lecturer and an outstanding research manager. G.V.Bogomolov founded a school of disciples and followers who continued to develop and put into practice the academician’s ideas in various branches of geological theory and practice.
Computational modeling is a convenient method of estimating underground water resources for regions with highly developed underground water resources, with a large number of variable production water supply systems. The use of computational modelling requires reliable informa-tion about a target aquifer’s filtering parameters, as well as its boundary conditions, or features of its interaction with the surface. Methods of determination of filtering parameters, including nodal analysis, which is obligatory, are well -developed, but determination of boundary condi-tions has some difficulties. The paper shows that reliable information about features of aquifer-surface interaction can be obtained by interpreting pumping tests.
Main goal of researches is bound with an estimation of values of inflows of water in goal Yakovlevsky of an iron-ore deposit using a method of mathematical modeling. Usage of constantly working mathematical models allows reacting operatively to fast varying hydro-geological circumstances and allows to value prognosis inflows of water in mine workings during the further support of mining operations and to solve engineering tasks on optimization of drainage actions.
Some specific problems arising at creation of permanent mathematical models of large regions are considered. Limitations concerning hydrogeological models in the process of their development are given.
The main requirements to detail and quality of initial information for modeling at different stages of surveys are characterized. The main attention is paid to information support of permanent models at the stages of assessment, exploration and development of groundwater deposits.
