About possibility of iron oxide pigments production for paint and varnish industry

Article preview

Currently, almost all iron oxide pigments production is located in the neighboring countries. Besides, the used technologies of pigments production are environmentally harmful. Development of ecologically safe technology for obtaining pigment grade ore is a priority and quite actual task for the paint and varnish industry of Russia.

Study of chromite platinum-metal massifs of Russia

Article preview

This type of deposits is the main exploration target for Pt, Ir, Os, Ru. Inferred resources of platinum group elements (PGM) from Ray-Iz are estimated at several tons. Methods of separation of rich concentrates of platinum metals by mechanical enrichment have been studied. Hydrometallurgical technology of PGM concentrates extraction from chromite ores is recommended. The expediency of PGM precipitation during processing of chromite materials at chemical plants even at low PGM content is shown. The prospectivity of chromite ores of the Polar Urals as a source of PGMs is substantiated.

Optimization of slurry separation processes using LAROX OY filter presses

Article preview

The basic dependences of filtration, flow formation and drying processes given in various scientific papers are generalized. A detailed algorithm for calculating these processes has been developed, taking into account hydrodynamic and heat and mass transfer patterns of the above processes. On the basis of previously collected experimental data the possibility of application of LAROX OY filter-press for filtration of crushed ore suspension at hydrometallurgical enterprises has been substantiated. Experimental data on separation of suspensions are processed and prepared for numerical calculation.

Mathematical model of control of calcination process in alumina production

Article preview

The performance of the calcination furnace is determined by a number of factors, the most important of which are the thermal regime and uniformity of feeding the furnace with feedstock. For the automation of such a furnace is of great importance the correct mathematical description of the process from the moment of loading the feedstock to obtain the finished product ...

Optimal interval of linear interpolation

Article preview

There is no optimal (in the sense of mean square error) interval of Govt interpolation by one, two, three, etc. equal to T ordinates of the “pure” signal x (t). The smaller T, the smaller the mean square of the error. If an interference n (t) is added to the signal, then for one-point (step) interpolation Topt also does not exist at any combinations of x (t) and n (t). However, already for two-point (linear) interpolation, the interval Gopt, which gives the minimum of RMS error, exists, and linear interpolation of discrete measurements can be more accurate than continuous measurements. At the same time, linear preemptive extrapolation does not improve the accuracy.

Automatic maximization of productivity of self-propelled underground hydro-monitors

Article preview

The problem of automatic maximization of self-propelled hydraulic monitors productivity at development of coal seams by hydraulic method has not been solved yet, though practice has long ago established that the dependence between the hydraulic monitor productivity q and the speed of its trunk movement v along the face front has an extreme character. As can be seen from Fig. 1, the top A, which characterizes the optimal operating mode, under the influence of changes in mining and geological conditions drifts...
