Development of technology of processing of low-quality coal with the purpose of extraction of non-ferrous metals from it

Article preview

The technology presented permits to use different coal ranges, to solve the problem of ash utilization and significantly reduce emission of toxic elements into the atmosphere and at the same time produce metals and their concentrates. The main product is fine coal which can replace fuel oil and motor fuel. The flow chart of chemical purification of fine coal consists of 5 main stages: breakage, kilning in boiling bed, leaching, microwave irradiation and production of the water-coal mixture.

Application of center-run extractors in petrochemistry

Article preview

One of the ways of recovery of metals from oil is considered. It is proposed to carry out the extraction of metals from oils using a separator with centrifugal phase separation. This type of separators can be used not only for extraction of valuable components such as metals from oils, but also for purification of water from oil products, as well as for hydrometallurgical production of non-ferrous metals.

Extraction of cerium(III) and yttrium(III) by carboxylic acids from nitrate media

Article preview

Experimental data on the solvate extraction of cerium(III) and yttrium(III) by solutions of oleic and naphthenic acids in o-dimethylbenzene were obtained. After mathematical analysis of the dependences of the distribution coefficient on pH and the composition of the organic and aqueous phases, the structure and composition of the solvate complexes were determined, as well as the values of Gibbs free energies and equilibrium constants of the reaction.

Thermodynamic study of extraction of cerium nitrate by oleic acid

Article preview

The extraction of cerium nitrate from aqueous solutions by a solution of oleic acid in o-xylene was studied. The dependence of the distribution coefficient of cerium nitrate on the water-hydrogen index and on the volume of the organic phase was revealed, while the ratio between the concentrations of oleic acid and cerium remained constant. The solvation number at ex-traction of cerium nitrate by oleic acid was determined. The mechanism of the reaction was established. The equilibrium constant and Gibbs energy of extraction were calculated.
