The article deals with the main peculiarities of educational environment in technical institutions that influence the effectiveness of training process. The issue of students’ preparing for real professional communication as a way of motivation increase is considered. Basic spheres of professional communication of future specialists during trips abroad are given; ways of developing professional skills are suggested.

The characteristic features of students’ professional communication situations typical of practical training abroad are defined.
