Abstract

The device of the continuous heating unit is considered, the technical characteristics of the unit and the thermal part of the unit are presented, and the design and operation of the thermal part of the unit are described. To improve the thermal physical characteristics of the process of heating copper ingots in a continuous heating unit, the furnace lining composition is developed. The equivalent coefficients of heat conductivity, heat flux density, heat flow through the surface of the furnace lining are determined, and new materials of lining layers are selected. Thermal and physical characteristics of the main refractory and insulating materials are given. It is proved that the use of new materials of furnace lining layers instead of the existing ones leads to a significant economic effect.
