Reforms in Polish mining

Abstract

In Poland, the process of restructuring the mining industry began in 1989. Huge state centers, transferred to the following governments, were supposed to bring this sector to profitability and competitiveness on the domestic and international market. The lack of consistency in the implementation of restructuring processes has resulted in the implementation of various programs and the achievement of only parts of these reforms over the last 15 years of reforms. Reforming the mining industry is a very complex process. In this article the authors try to summarize the course of the existing rules and the perspective of the mining industry development in Poland in the coming years.
