Role of language testing in foreign language higher education

Abstract

This paper deals with the role the foreign language testing procedure plays in the process of validation of the formation of linguistic and speech skills and habits. It has been shown that control of the level of training in the format of testing should be aimed at the education of the language achievement of students, the dynamics of their language and speech development, the formation of positive motivational statement to continue foreign language learning as well as encouraging desire to demonstrate his abilities, rather than the detection of language mistakes and difficulties, psychoemotional impedances cause and the availability of threshold level of a student’s foreign language competency.
