Abstract
The article presents methods of implementing an occupational health and safety system that was implemented in Polish coal mines. Nine areas of occupational safety and health are presented, as well as an interpretation of the results obtained. The article emphasizes the importance of worker participation in the program. The results of the effectiveness of the system in a Polish coal mine (2003-2005) are also presented.
