Abstract

The Ural Mountains is a raw material and metallurgical cluster of the Russian Federation. Due to lack of reliable reserves of ferrous metals Russia has to import raw materials from such neighbouring countries as Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The paper studies a possibility to expand the ferrous metals resource by the deposits located in the Polar and Subpolar Urals.
