Life path of Nikolay Fedorovich Pogrebov (1860-1960)

Abstract
One of the greatest scientists in the field of hydrogeology and engineering geology, Honored Scientist of the RSFSR, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences Nikolai F. Pogrebov was the organizer of special hydrogeological surveys in the country. On the basis of studying the sources of recharge of the main rivers of European Russia and solving the problems of water supply to many cities, he outlined the main ways of development of regional hydrogeology. His role in the study of landslide phenomena and the development of methods for their control was especially great.
