Displacements of earth masses, called landslides, are very widespread on the territory of Georgia. There is almost no region where landslide phenomena would not bring harm to the national economy, annually destroying tens of thousands of hectares of arable land and pastures, forests, destroying railroads and highways.The most characteristic is the landslide region of the Kakheti Range - the watershed of the Iori and Alazani valleys.
