Remote control of dangerous goods transportation

Article preview

Transportation of dangerous goods by road in populated areas requires continuous control of the route, mode and conditions of transportation. Continuous remote control of transportation is a new technological task, the solution of which is based on scientific and technical achievements in satellite radio navigation, data transmission from mobile objects and geoinformation technologies. The principles of construction of the remote control system in relation to Russian conditions are considered, technical substantiation of the principles of construction of all components of the system is given: vehicle equipment (VE), radio-technical network of data transmission from VE to dispatching center (DC), equipment and software of DC. The possibilities of using hardware and software products of domestic manufacturers in the system are shown.

Features of measuring circuits with parametric modulation

Article preview

When controlling the moisture content of materials with large dielectric losses, schemes that allow measuring the components of the complex resistance of the capacitive transducer are usually used. The greatest sensitivity among them is characterized by bridge meters ...

Compensation of dielectric losses of a capacitive moisture sensor in F-meter circuits

Article preview

In resonant methods of moisture measurement, a capacitive sensor with the material under study is in some cases included in the oscillatory circuit of a self-excited oscillator. A change in the moisture content W of the material being monitored leads to a readjustment of the resonant circuit in the anode-grid circuit of the oscillator, which causes a certain increment in the generated frequency. The frequency increment of the self-excited oscillator is converted by frequency discriminators into a direct voltage, which is fed to a measuring instrument. A disadvantage of the considered method of moisture control is the dependence of the operating frequency of the self-excited oscillator on the magnitude of dielectric losses in the material being monitored. At large dielectric losses, the error in moisture measurement can reach significant values. This disadvantage also limits the use of highly sensitive resonant methods.

Extension of the limits and improvement of the measurement accuracy of high-frequency moisture meters on the basis of an E12-1A type capacitance meter

Article preview

In discrete rapid monitoring of the moisture content of dispersed materials, devices based on the E12-1A instrument, whose simplified circuit is shown in Figure 1, are in some cases used. The range and accuracy of moisture measurements of materials are determined not only by the design of the sensor, but also by the circuit of the measuring oscillator. The range of moisture measurement can also be extended and the effect of losses reduced by increasing the overall gain of the stage, for example, by replacing the cathode follower with an aperiodic amplifier with an anode load.

Automatic moisture meter for ceramic masses

Article preview

Ceramic masses used in the porcelain and earthenware industry consist of clay and finely ground stony materials. The ceramic masses comprise kaolin, clay, non-plastic components and finings. The percentages of the individual components of the ceramic masses depend mainly on their chemical structure and the presence of impurities, as well as on the deposits from which the raw materials are sourced. The liquid mass containing all components is dewatered to the required moisture content in filter presses during the plastic molding process. In this case, the required consistency of the dough is obtained at a moisture content of 16-25%. The deviation of the moisture value from the specified average value should not exceed +0.5% relative humidity.
