Application of radio electronics in mining

Article preview

Our time is characterized by rapid development of radio electronics and its wide penetration into various branches of national economy. Radio methods are successfully used in the search for minerals, in geophysical research, in surveying (radio dial gauges and laser directional indicators), begins the introduction of radio electronics and at mining enterprises too. ...

To ensure the safety of heavy-duty dump trucks movement in poor visibility conditions

Article preview

Provision of safety of movement of heavy-duty dump trucks in poor visibility is a very urgent task, especially in the severe conditions of the Far North. Its solution will increase not only the accident-free operation of dump trucks, but also their productivity. For example, at the open pit of the Central mine of Apatit Combine, where BelAZ dump trucks are used, the number of days with fogs, snowfalls and blizzards reaches 300 per year. According to the current regulations, the movement of dump trucks is prohibited when visibility is less than 20 meters. At visibility of 20-50 m, despite a sharp reduction in speed, the movement of dump trucks is not accident-free.

Measuring system with information transmission via uninsulated conductors in mine workings

Article preview

At mining enterprises of the Soviet Union successfully used radio communication systems PAVS-2M, Nedra-ІІІ, Shahter-ІІІ and others. At present attempts are being made to create equipment for measuring and transmitting information on the dynamics of production processes using radio communication channels. As it is known, the transmission range and reliability of the communication channel in the conditions of mining enterprises are significantly increased in the presence of metal guides in mine workings...

Calculation of linear parameters of long lines equivalent to information transmission lines in mining operations

Article preview

In the conditions of mining enterprises, the communication channel is usually the weakest link in the information transmission system. Particular violations of mining and geological and climatic conditions lead to its damage and, consequently, loss of information. Therefore, when measuring in hard-to-reach places and dangerous conditions, it is necessary to use communication channels that would be minimally affected by changes in external factors (for example, rails, pipes, grounding tires, trolleys or specially laid steel cables)...
