Quartz veins are natural objects with which industrial concentrations of ore mineralization are associated and which themselves can be bodies of minerals - raw materials for smelting various types of quartz glass.

In many crystal-bearing fields, the confinement of quartz veins to certain compositional strata, which are considered to be productive with respect to crystal formation, has been noted.
