Typification of ore-bearing provinces and principles of compiling metallogenic maps Typification of ore-bearing provinces and principles of compiling metallogenic maps

Article preview

Metallogeny as a science developed especially successfully over the last 25 years in the Soviet Union after the publication of the fundamental works by Yu. A. Bilibin. The attempt to relate the development of ore formation to the regular evolution of mobile zones — the formation of sedimentary-volcanogenic sequences, intrusive and effusive rocks — is a major contribution to science. The principles proposed by Yu. A. Bilibin for dividing magmatic complexes and ore deposits into three or five stages (early–middle–late or initial–early–middle–late–final) were used as the basis for compiling metallogenic maps.
