In the process of preparation of polymer solutions, depending on the type of stirring device and the shape of the vessel, power on the shaft and mixing time, polymer molecules are subjected to mechanical impact and in accordance with the level of this impact can be partially or completely destroyed (mechanodestructured).
The difficulties of oxidative roasting of sulfide materials are well known. Pyrrhotite concentrates - wastes of enrichment of some sulfide polymetallic ores among other sulfide raw materials occupy a special position ...
The last decades have been marked by the emergence of fundamentally new technological methods designed to intensify various technological processes. These methods include the method of the fluidized bed. The production of non-ferrous metals (pyrometallurgical processing), oil refining, the production of certain building materials, sulfuric acid production, the drying of grain, plastics and paste-like materials, the granulation of salts and certain other processes have developed to one degree or another on the basis of the use of the fluidized bed.
Ion exchange is widely used in hydrometallurgy, especially in the extraction of rare earth or ferrous elements from solutions. The field of application of ion exchangers in non-ferrous metallurgy can be significantly expanded, firstly, if sufficiently cheap and high-capacity domestic ion exchangers are available, and secondly, if the mechanism of the ion exchange process is known, which makes it possible to obtain, analyze and use appropriate kinetic equations. For a number of cations (copper, zinc, etc.), the domestic cation exchanger KU-2 can be confidently attributed to the number of ion exchangers meeting the first requirement. Not having selectivity with respect to ions of a certain type in the combined presence of several ions, the KU-2 cation exchanger turns out to be quite high-capacity with respect to each of the cations individually.
A fountain layer can serve as one of the intensive methods of contacting a solid material with a liquid. While a significant number of works have been devoted to its hydrodynamic regularities in the G‑S system, there is practically no work on the hydrodynamics and mass transfer of the fountain layer in the L‑S system. The lack of a complete analogy in the behavior of these two heterogeneous systems, caused by a significant difference in the viscosity and density of the light phases L and G, urgently requires independent hydrodynamic studies of the fountain layer in the L‑S system...
Extensive experimental material on the kinetics of the pyrrhotite roasting process has made it possible to establish the influence of temperature, oxygen concentration, and particle size on the rate of the oxidation process. Oxidative roasting of pyrrhotites is a complex physicochemical heterogeneous process accompanied by the formation of gaseous and solid reaction products, which leads to additional resistance to mass transfer caused by the diffusion of oxygen through a porous layer of solid oxides...
