The natural field method is widely used in exploration geophysics to detect ore deposits. Recently, this method has also been used to study geologic objects with low electrical conductivity, i.e. non-metallic deposits.
When measuring the thermophysical properties of rocks by the heat wave method, two probes are introduced into the material under study: a heat pulse source and a thermosensitive element; the thermal conductivity and diffusivity of the material are determined by the change in the parameters of the heat wave ...
At mining enterprises of the Soviet Union successfully used radio communication systems PAVS-2M, Nedra-ІІІ, Shahter-ІІІ and others. At present attempts are being made to create equipment for measuring and transmitting information on the dynamics of production processes using radio communication channels. As it is known, the transmission range and reliability of the communication channel in the conditions of mining enterprises are significantly increased in the presence of metal guides in mine workings...
The main parameters that need to be determined when studying the manifestations of rock pressure in shafts are the magnitude of the load on the support, the nature of its change in time and distribution along the contour of the cross-section of the shaft, as well as the magnitude of displacements of the surrounding rock massif. To determine these parameters, the best known is the VNIMI method, which is based on the use of special dynamometric bracing. More than ten years of experience in the use of such a mount has proved the performance of its main components However, the widespread use of the mount in research work is constrained, because most of the devices and equipment used in it are not mass-produced, and their manufacture in local workshops is virtually impossible. In this regard, LMI developed a simplified design of dynamometric support and measuring devices, which are characterized by simplicity and can be manufactured in mine workshops. This allows organizing instrumental observations on a much wider scale and obtaining information on the manifestations of rock pressure in the volume necessary for solving a number of practical problems.
When studying the manifestations of rock pressure, the question often arises about the magnitude of deformations of the host rocks. For example, it is very important to determine the development of deformations in the remaining pillars and the roof of the chambers during the chamber and pillar system of field development. Many methods and devices are known for both direct and remote control of the magnitude of deformations of the host rocks, but they are not always applicable. In particular, it refers to the case when blasting operations during the clearance excavation do not give an opportunity to fix the beginning of the process of chamber roof lowering by the devices of direct control or remote control with the wire system of information transmission. To solve this problem we need devices, the placement of which will exclude the influence of blasting operations on their operability. This requirement is satisfied by the devices allowing measurements via radio communication channels. Therefore, the development of new radio-technical devices and methods of control, which will ensure reliability and safety of measurements of the magnitudes of deformation of the host rocks in production conditions, is of great importance.
