Environmental problems arising at the Russian brine mines, where rock salt is extracted through wells in the form of saturated sodium chloride brines, are considered. In the technology of salt extraction by dissolution method oil products are used, which, along with brine, are agents of pollution of the natural environment.
The most promising methods of mineral extraction in terms of environmental protection are geotechnological, based on the transfer of minerals through physical, chemical and microbiological processes into a mobile state and its delivery to the surface through wells.
