The Severodvinsk depression is located in the lower reaches of the Northern Dvina River and is a large erosional depression dipping towards the White Sea and extending to the shelf.
This present article, summarizing the results of research conducted in recent years by the Department of Hydrogeology of the Leningrad Mining Institute, and prospecting and exploration for therapeutic mineral waters, conducted by PGO Arkhangelskgeologiya, is the first experience of hydrogeochemical typing of therapeutic mineral waters of the Severodvinsk artesian basin.
New data on hydrochemical zonality of the upper hydrogeological floor of the northern part of the Onego-Dvinsky interfluve, obtained as a result of surveying and prospecting for water in recent years, allowed to carry out hydrochemical zoning, territory, identify the main features of the chemical composition of groundwater and consider the processes of their formation.
