Iron-ore schists of KMA iron-ore deposits differ from the rocks used in the building materials industry by structural and textural features and the presence of iron sulfide in various contents. The author studied physical and chemical processes of iron sulfide oxidation depending on technological factors and possible processes of interaction of oxidation products with lime hydrate.
Possible chemical-physical processes of destruction of layered aluminous-iron silicates, sequence of K, Mg, Si, Al transition into solution, chemical interaction of element oxides with Ca(OH)2 (in the process of concrete and stowing mixtures formation) depending on various technological factors and possible processes of oxidation products interaction have been studied comprehensively. It is shown that layered minerals due to their structural features exhibit activity only along the crystal surface perpendicular to the layering. The process of thermal influence on their destruction is studied.
Some ways and means of reducing the harmful anthropogenic impact on the environment during open-pit mining have been developed. Technological solutions for the rational use of certain types of by-product rocks, in particular loose carbonate deposits of the Lebedinsky and Stoilensky iron ore deposits, have been substantiated. The influence of organomineral additives on the structural formation of chalk pellets (briquettes) with given agrochemical properties has been studied.
