The problems of development of the regions of Eastern Siberia and the Far East of Russia are considered. The state of the region's resource base is analyzed. The state of the gas market in the Asia-Pacific Region (APR) countries and their projected demand for Russian gas are analyzed. A variant of the export-oriented gas pipeline construction route from the eastern regions of Russia to the APR countries is proposed. The problem of choosing the optimal capacity of the gas pipeline using the theory of option pricing and the criterion of net present value of the project is solved.
