Analysis of granulometric composition of blasted rock mass

Article preview

A description of carrying out automatic analysis of rock mass particle size distribution from a photograph is presented. Conducting blast analysis is a difficult problem. The most accurate method is sieve analysis, which is costly and time-consuming. Therefore, the area of its application is very limited. The most common planimetric (more often - photoplanimetric) method of assessing the granulometric composition. Photoplanimetric analysis can be automated using a personal computer (PC). The image on the PC is entered from a digital camera, it is possible to use a scanned photo, provided that it is made from a professional camera. The program pre-processes the image by selecting the contours of objects. After manual correction, each object is calculated and statistically analyzed.
