An assemblage of ilmenite, pyrophanite and pseudurutile in Severny granite (the Chukchi peninsula)

Article preview

Ilmenite, pyrophanite MnTiO3 and pseudorutile Fe2Ti3O9 are detected by chemistry in Severny granite (Chaunsky District of Chukotka) and described. The Mn content in ilmenite groupe minerals slightly increases with zinnwalditisation high-temperature oxidation of ilmenite and pyrophanite formed pseudorutile. It’s a first occurrence of pyrophanite and endogenous pseudorutile in Severny granite.

Structural peculiarities of ice of Lake Vostok (Central Antarctica)

Article preview

An unusial distribution of Vostok lake ice crystals by dip incination of c-axis was showed by statistical methods. Such orientation was not observed in any lake ice before, so in Vostok lake some unusual freezing processes take place.

Statistical processing of the results of microstructural analysis of ice cores from deep boreholes at Vostok station (Central Antarctica)

Article preview

Original measurements of the optic axis orientation from 84 ice horizons in the depth range of 104-3516 m at the Vostok Polar Station covering more than 400 thousand years of ice formation have been analyzed for the first time in the history. Presence of significant textural anisotropies is shown. Statistical characteristics of spatial distribution density of the axes revealing the degree of the girdle fabric and single maximum fabric development are calculated. The resulting curves conform to the previous data and show different regimes of ice deformation depending on various depths. A significant role of the polygonization process in formation processes is also observed. The giant-crystal ice at the lowest horizons is probably a pegmatoid formation.

Methods of accounting for inflation

Article preview

The article considers a number of problems associated with accounting and reporting under inflation conditions. The necessity of reflection of inflationary processes in accounting is substantiated, methods of bringing data for different periods of time into a comparable form and methods of revaluation of assets and liabilities items of the balance sheet by the inflation level used in the world practice are described. Particular attention is paid to accounting models in constant prices, current prices and the combined method. Possibilities of application of these methods under certain conditions are evaluated. The methods of adjusting the balance sheet and the profit and loss statement, provided by the current international standards of financial reporting, are disclosed. An analysis is given of domestic experience in reflecting inflation in accounting in comparison with the practice of revaluation in other countries, in particular the main methods of revaluation of balance sheet items used in Russia. The principles of inflation accounting in our country at the present stage are formulated, their efficiency is evaluated.
