Modern methods of hydrogeological investigations in terms of prospecting of titanium-magnetic iron deposit «South-East Gremiakha»

Article preview

The paper considers the contemporary level of hydrogeological investigations during prospecting of deposits. It is suggested to use numerical modeling, sensors, computer programs for pumping tests. These methods are illustrated by prospecting of the South-East Gremiakha deposit.

Leningrad oil shale deposit: hydrogeological, environmental and economic problems

Article preview

The hydrodynamical and hydrochemical peculiarities of underground waters of the Leningrad oil shale deposit, the environmental and economic problems of the region connected with possible liquidation of mines on the deposit are considered. Possible mechanisms of mine waters pollution by flying phenols and heavy metals are represented.

Основные принципы организации и развития гидрогеомеханического мониторинга в подземных выработках Яковлевского рудника

Article preview

Rationale for the necessity of hydrogeoecological monitoring at the Leningrad oil shale deposit

Article preview

The necessity of organizing continuous monitoring of mine water quality and observation of the levels of formation of hydrochemical and hydrodynamic regimes of groundwater by creating a system of hydrogeoecological monitoring at the Leningrad oil shale deposit is considered. The goals and tasks of monitoring of mine and ground waters of the deposit are set out, the main stages of its planning and implementation are defined.

Changes in hydrogeological conditions during the exploitation of the Leningrad oil shale deposit

Article preview

Prior to the exploitation of the Leningrad oil shale deposit, the piezometric surface of the aquifers was gently declining in a north-west direction - the total groundwater flow was directed towards the Gulf of Finland, the fluctuations of the flow by seasons were determined by hydrometeorological conditions.
