In article the analysis data of mechanical and metallographic researches of tangential rotary cutters of the Russian and foreign manufacturers is resulted. The reason of fragility of tangential cutters of the Russian manufacture is specified.
In present article the courses of low wear resistance of rotary cutting bit body and also the courses of one-sided wear are described. The results of hardness of the cutting bit body from various manufacturers are represented here. In summary a conclusion was made that the utilization of thermal treatment after pressing removes specific structure that can be the course of one-sided wear genesis.
In course of analysis was made a conclusion that tangential rotary cutters in most cases fell out in consequence of armor breakage, bared during wearing of holder. In this connection, was offered a way of cutters diagnostication, concluding in checking length of the bare part of hardalloyed rod in purpose of the well-timed change of weared out cutters and non-admission working machine in undesirable for itself conditions
